My students need access to Chromebooks in order to differentiate assessments, assignments, and research projects. Having a small group of Chromebooks, headphones and mice will allow my students to work independently at their level on assigned tasks.

My Students
My fourth grade classroom is an inclusion classroom. It is filled with students with a wide variety of needs. It currently includes students on Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and others with Attention Deficit Disorders. It is my goal to plan engaging activities that meet each student’s needs daily through whole group, small group, and individual instruction. Engaged learners become independent thinkers and workers. Our classroom enjoys hands on activities and using technology throughout the day to build, strengthen, and demonstrate knowledge.
My Project
I would like to incorporate 4 Chromebooks to our classroom. By having access to these, my students will be able to show their learning through a different modality, not just paper/pencil. The students will have the opportunity to complete accelerated reading quizzes and Readworks, practice math on Prodigy and XtraMath, research topics and type papers on Google Classroom, and so much more!
Using Chromebooks in our classroom means that each student can be successful with technology while meeting their learning needs at their level.
I believe that these computers would positively impact the students academic success. They will also help the students prepare for the 4th grade AIR state tests, which are conducted online.
