Help me give my students with reading disabilities the ability to independently participate in general education classes with a C-Pen Reader. The C-Pen Reader can read for students who want to read, but struggle to put words together.

I teach a classroom for students who have or function as if they have a mild cognitive impairment. Most of them have an IQ score below 70, have varying levels of Autism, or have health impairments such as ADHD. My students learn best through visual/interactive and hands on instruction.
What I love about my students is their excitement about learning.
My students love to explore and exceed all expectations! Our school is in an urban, low income area, and most students qualify for free meals. I am their portal to learning about the big world outside of their little world.
The C-Pen Reader is a tool that can help my students overcome their greatest challenge; reading. The C-Pen Reader will make it possible for my students to independently complete assignments and tests that require reading. It has a dictionary to help them learn the meaning of unknown words. It also has a voice recorder that can be used to take notes or save and submit work electronically.
80% of children with an IEP have reading difficulty and 85% of those are Dyslexic.
The ability for students to read and understand the instructions given greatly effects their ability be successful with a task. With the C-Pen reader, struggling readers can complete assignments, tests, or even read a good book without having to wait for assistance.
The goal is for my students to overcome their challenges and find success in the general education classroom. Learning to use the C-Pen Reader can change lives now, closing the gap between readers and non-readers, and bringing success to more students now.
