Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The Internet can open the world to my students. The ability to experience new literature, take virtual field trips and experience the incredible offerings that our wide world possesses!
My students need 2 Nook Tablets with Jackets to encourage and improve reading, while improving writing and analysis.
My students are active learners who are constantly looking for opportunities to learn more and expand their minds. Our school is a lower income, PHBAO (Primarily Hispanic, Asian, Black and Other) school with dual income families, leaving the children on their own for most of the day. Many of them are kept inside the home due to safety, and are not even given the opportunity to play outside! My students need the chance to succeed. Please help out!
My Project
By providing the students with ready access to the Internet, I plan to open a center that is based on reading, active research and logic based questioning. I plan to encourage the students to work independently and through the creation of unique pieces of writing, build study skills that will enable them to succeed in elementary school and beyond.

My students will gain skills and experiences that will enable them to achieve now and in the future. They are enthusiastic learners who deserve to have the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of our world.
