My Students

My school is a fully funded Title I school (meaning we have a high percentage of children from low-income families). As a teacher in a low income/high poverty area, my students come in already at a disadvantage and far behind their counterparts in other areas of the city. My students are desperate to learn and absorb everything I teach them. Seeing their eyes open to a new world ahead of them is inspiring on a daily basis.

My students are in need of critical thinking and problem solving skills that can help them be competitive and productive in their futures.

My Project

My students would greatly benefit from the Osmo Genius Kits to help them improve with critical thinking, spatial relational, and problem solving skills. These skills are in a major deficit due to the fact that my classroom has very minimal hands-on activities or manipulatives. Osmo would help open the parts of the brain that allow students to work through difficult problems.

Students will gain skills that cannot be attained by a book or any special lessons.

Excitement and education should go hand in hand.

Tangram fosters spatial relational skills.

Words teaches spelling and critical thinking skills.

Newton fosters creative problem solving skills.

Masterpiece teaches drawing and creative confidence.

Numbers teaches counting, addition and multiplication.
