My Project
During the school day, sometimes a student will have a bathroom accident that requires a change of clothes. When this happens, they are sent to the nurse to change into clean clothes. Many times a parent has to be called to bring a change of clothes resulting in missed classroom instruction time. Sometimes the parents can't come or can't be reached. So having some clean underwear and pants will allow a student to change and get back to class. By having clothes on hand, the need for parents to drive to bring the clothes will be eliminated, and students will not have to wait in dirty clothes. This project will help me stock up on clothes for the smaller kids so they can stay at school and be successful.
Also, with the winter weather here and upon us, some of our kids are just worried about staying warm.
Parents do not have the ability to purchase new clothes for each season. Nobody wants to explain why they are wearing shorts in the freezing cold. When students show up dressed inappropriately for the weather, we are able to provide them with something warm. Having the appropriate clothing helps our students emotionally by helping them to fit in with their peers. These materials will be used to ensure each student has the clothing they need.
