Celebrate Black Teachers and Students
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a preschool deaf and hard of hearing classroom in Detroit Public Schools. Most of my students start school at the age of 2 1/2 with no to little prior language. I am their start to opening their world immersed with language.
My students have such a desire to learn. I have many different ways of delivering instruction. I know that not all students learn at the same pace or in the same way.

My Project
Potty accidents happen a lot in my preschool D/HH classroom. I would like to provide my students with a change of clothing when needed. These items include: Socks, underwear, shirts, sweaters, and pants. Young children do have the occasional accident. Although parents were informed at the beginning of the year that their child would need an extra pair of "just in case clothing", many of the parents were not able to send them in because of financial reasons.
For this reason, I am asking for "just in case" clothing to give to my students who can not afford to purchase them.
All students should be able to come to school and be comfortable.
