My students need a set of Ozobots to further their understanding and learning of real life application coding. All third, fourth and fifth graders will have the opportunity to work with Ozobots in an interdisciplinary manner.

My Students

My school serves students in K-5 including general education, inclusion, mainstream, and special education classes. The students at my school come from a variety of different socioeconomic lifestyles. The students vary in learning styles, interests and educational backgrounds.

Third, fourth and fifth grade teachers have been working to incorporate coding into our curriculum this year.

Students have opportunities to work together to participate in the Hour of Code, Scratch programming and other useful sites. I am so excited to share the Ozobots with the third, fourth and fifth graders in my building!

My Project

Third, fourth and fifth graders in my building will have the opportunity to work hands-on with real life coding using the Ozobots. Students will work in partners to discover how to code using the Ozobots through practices that will require them to use their higher level of thinking. Once students have mastered the Ozobots, the hope is to create interdisciplinary units to coincide with our curriculum and our new coding robots! Students can create maps for their Ozobots to ´wander´ in Social Studies or put their literacy skills to action by creating stories featuring our Ozobots as our main characters!
