My middle school students are amazing each and every day!
The students are thirsty for experiences and drink up any new opportunity given to them. Our media center is still building a makerspace, and with that, building a new culture of "making" and creating. This new attitude is growing rapidly with our student body. They are much more willing to try new things, without asking for help. They are willing to work through errors they come across within the projects they work through. Watching them grow in the way they inquire and critically think is so inspiring as their media specialist.
My Project
Building Blox and Magna Tiles come with endless possibilities for creativity in engineering and problem solving. And, the Cardboard Tools will keep our students safe as they use that medium to create. This is an excellent way to provide more opportunity for hands-on STEM activities. We know that not every STEM project has to be electronic/robotic in some fashion. We would love to have a balanced mix of STEM challenges in our space.
Our student's makerspace experiences will grow as we incorporate these hands-on opportunities for them.
Our kenesthetic learners will especially thrive as they get to utilize these hands-on STEM tools.
