My Students

"Onward Trojans". This simple phrase in our school's fight song is always motivating us to keep moving forward each and every day.

My middle school students are amazing each and every day!

The students are thirsty for experiences and drink up any new opportunity given to them. Our media center is still building a makerspace, and with that, building a new culture of "making" and creating. This new attitude to growing rapidly with the student body. They are much more willing to try new things, without asking for help. They are willing to work through errors they come across within the projects they work through. Watching them grow in the way they inquire and critically think is so inspiring as their media specialist.

My Project

Our school district, as a whole, is really working hard to make sure our student population is College and Career Ready. We would like to add Robotics to our makerspace here to ignite an interest in programming, coding, or even the manufacturing robots.

Being able to learn to program and code is a great 21st Century skill to be exposed to at such a young age.

By adding multiple Sphero Robots and Ozobots to our Makerspace all 650+ students at JTA will have the opportunity to dive in to a college and career ready pathway that will lead them to great success in life. You would be providing our students with such an amazing hands-on experience that they will not have otherwise.
