My Students

I typically have about 90-100 students a year. I teach 3 language arts classes that are each two periods long. Many of my students come from low income families. It is often very difficult to get supplies at the beginning of the year. I generally supply supplies for at least half of my students. It is imperative that these students have a designated area, their individual containers, to keep all of their supplies and materials in class. Most middle school children struggle with organization and having supplies. I want to ensure success in my classroom. In order for my students to be successful, they need to have the appropriate supplies in class and accessible daily.

My Project

My students are in desperate need of organization skills. By having files in the classroom, I am able to contain on their individual materials in their own specific file. I rarely have unprepared students or any need for students to leave class to go to their lockers. This is a tremendous help and alleviates students disrupting class to come and go to retrieve items from their lockers. Everything is kept in class and easily accessible. Organization is essential for class participation, completion of assignments, and success. I have used these containers for about five years now, and I can't imagine being without them.
