Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a Title I school which is one of the lowest income schools in the district. I have 100% free lunches for our students. I teach second grade with a diverse student population. Our students love to learn and are always asking questions. A lot of our students show great leadership skills in the making.
I have 25 students and out of these students, I have a diverse population, ranging from different religions, ethnicity, a cultural background to different learning needs, behaviors and abilities.
The community that they live in is very impoverished. One hard thing for them is going to school because it isn't a high priority for them or their families. My goal is to make school a great place to learn and motivate them to want to come to school.
My Project
I am asking for help getting a few necessities I need in order to teach my students online. With the virus going around, our school is about to start online teaching and I have found that I am missing a few key items in order to successfully teach online.
Having these tools will help make the transition from in class teaching to online teaching go a lot smoother for my students.
I have no coloring tools, something to write on during lesson videos and other small tools to be successful. Once I have these tools, I can see that the lessons will be more engaging and familiar since my lessons are colorful in class also.
