Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Seven weeks ago our class was preparing for their musical performance that was to occur that evening. We had very short notice to prepare for what we thought was a long Spring Break.
Many of our families are economically challenged, and have access to the internet, or the devices needed to Distance Learn.
The first week of April our district continuous learning plan, they did a wonderful job in a very short amount of time. The plan includes both paper packets and online resources for families. We have used Google Hang Out to do lessons with students.
My Project
Our school has many students who are English Language Learners. It is important that these students have a lot of visuals.
The puppet, flannel board stories, and Big Books will help stories come to life.
I want my students to have as many visuals as possible as we do our best to connect with our students through distance learning.
Vocabulary, is also very important when teaching young children. The sentence strips and white board markers will help with introducing new words. They will benefit greatly from this while we are learning from home.
