This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in a very unique school district. We have over 2,300 students in our high school. Our district is a Title I school and it is in a low-income and high crime-rate area. The location of our district does not define our high school students, rather their unique abilities and achievements do.

Our students are resilient and they are able to take their individual circumstance and use it to fuel their ambition.

Our students are proud... they are strong ... they are brave ... and most importantly, they do not give up.

My Project

I would like to get professional resources in effort to help support the novels I am reading in class.

On Teachers Pay Teachers I am able to get resource to support our Novel "A Long Way Down" by Jason Reynolds.

Students will be able to use engaging and standard based materials to comprehend the novel. We will also be able to have meaningful discussions and work in groups to complete projects and tasks. Lastly, these resources will enable and support my ELD students to read the story with confidence and pride.
