My students are wonderful learners. They love to read and are inspired with hands on learning. They inquire about the world around them, and love to interact with real world problems. They enjoy working on solutions independently, in small groups, and as a class.
The students tend to learn more when they attempt something difficult or unusual.
We have talked a lot about the growth mindset and how our brain is a muscle and grows by attempting difficult tasks.
It is wonderful to see the support this class offers to each other this early in the year.
My Project
My second grade students need exciting new books and materials to spark their interest for this school year. They are in need of hands on math games and STEM science projects. Also, new books for them to fall in love with.
We will also be using Reading Counts to increase our reading levels.
We love high interest books books that grab our attention and keep up hooked! Everyday we stay curious through reading and expand out vocabulary and word knowledge.
The science and math materials will be used in the classroom to support grade level standards. We want to ask appropriate questions each day and explore on our own. It's great to stay curious in our room!
