My Students

My students are middle school students in Camden, NJ which is an urban center in Southern New Jersey. Because of economic conditions, my students do not always have access to the educational resources that surrounding areas are afforded.

My students are talented and have great potential to lead their community if provided with necessary educational tools.

In our class, we emphasize it is not where you begin, but where the journey takes you. My students will be successful in life's journey.

My Project

As a part of new initiative, our middle school students have received individual laptops to use throughout the day to advance their learning. Unfortunately, headphones for each student were not in the district or school's budget. This project will provide each student with earphones so they can do individual study using a multi-media/multi-sensory approach. This project will allow students with varying abilities to have differentiated instruction and audio/visual support where needed. With the new laptops, the ability to have texts read to students is increased. This helps students with comprehension and vocabulary development in all areas of the curriculum.
