Help me give my students tablets that will allow them to advance their technological understandings and create virtual experiences for learning.

As the English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher in a small inner city school, I have the great privilege to work with a group of dedicated and hard working students who bring a wealth of culture to my classroom. These children are always eager to explore new subjects and engage in rich discussions to enhance their learning. It is my goal to encourage these students to share their culture and experiences with their peers in order to increase their cross-curricular connections and allow them to relate to otherwise abstract materials.
In order to help these children learn, it is imperative that I am able to present materials and design experiences in a wide variety of teaching methods.
ESL students generally have less access to learning experiences outside of the classroom for many different reasons. In order to ensure that the children in my class are afforded every opportunity to access the same virtual experiences as their peers, I would like to have one-to-one devices in my classroom. To reach this goal, I need to purchase 4 tablets or laptops for my students.
Technology in the ESL classroom gives students freedom and confidence to actively engage in learning a new language. Students from other countries may not know how to use technology and need opportunities to practice with the devices. While they are exploring the use of technology, they are also engaged in the four domains of ESL Instruction and Assessment - Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.
One-to-one devices in my classroom would create the greatest possible learning experience for each of my students.
Using tablets to create an avatar gives student the confidence to practice speaking a new language, while typing gives them the opportunity to practice writing and reading in the new language. Technology opens the door for so many opportunities, and I cannot wait to provide those opportunities for my ESL Students.
