This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As students of a Title I school, many of my students have never been exposed to musical experiences or musical notation. When I first met my students, I thought it would be difficult for them to feel confident and vulnerable enough to participate in any musical activities. They were non-responsive and no one seemed to want to speak at first, let alone do movement activities or sing. In the year that I have been at this school, my students have become more confident and comfortable in expressing themselves through music.

They have become musicians, composers, artists, problem solvers, and creative beings.

My Project

A projector is a vital tool for the classroom. It can project books, illustrations, 3-D musical instruments. It allows for students to write melodic and rhythmic notations for all to see.

Your donations to make this project a reality will help to increase student attention and help them to better understand musical notation.

Students gain clearer access to information. It is a great tool for visual learners.

Most importantly, this projector will help students visualize and retain what they are learning. The more models or examples students can see the more it helps them think of alternate solutions. By encouraging collaboration through their musical compositions, students are developing 21st century work skills!
