My Students

I teach Spanish in a high school where the students learn Spanish, writers workshop, readers workshop and cultural studies in Spanish. My high school is part of a very low-income district where the resources that we have sometimes are often not enough for what we really need. Despite many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best every single day but the lack of resources sometimes makes it really hard to achieve it but it is amazing to see that they never give up no matter what.

My Project

I have very limited Spanish literature resources to introduce to my Spanish 2 classes and native speaker classes. I want them to be in the habit of reading, feeling the curiosity for the stories. It makes me so happy to see that even though they struggle, they never give up. I plan to use these Spanish reading materials to continue to allow students to discuss literature, and even debate, topics in a different language. These materials will give them access to thousands of new words and new stories

This will allow them to expand their vocabulary in two languages.

Now a days, being able to read and speak more than one language is important and opens a multitude of doors for my students to have a brilliant future.
