My 4th grade students are working hard every day to become amazing readers. My school is in a high-poverty neighborhood and many of my students face challenges and trauma in their lives that can make coming to school and learning new things difficult and overwhelming. My goal is to make my classroom accessible, enjoyable, and nurturing for each and every one of my students.
My students are clever, loving, inspiring, and creative beyond belief.
They have taught me more than I have ever taught them and they deserve the best education possible. My school may not have many resources, but my classroom can be the start of motivation for my students. Bringing technology into my classroom will allow my students to experience reading and expand their knowledge in fun and engaging ways. My students love to read, hear, and talk about stories. Giving them access to the resources they need and deserve will help them to develop a love for reading and will begin their journey to becoming life-long learners.
My students need laptops to be able to access online educational programs and to improve their technological skills. My school has been struggling to provide access to technology to all students and this project would help my students to be successful in the 21st century.
These laptops will be used daily to improve my students' skills and to captivate their interests.
Having access to this technology will help close the literacy gap with my students and will help them to engage with new topics and skills. My students deserve the best and this access to technology will help them to succeed in class, learn technological skills, and explore their boundless interests.
