"If you grit your teeth, and show real determination, you always have a chance." Charles M. Schulz
My students come from a rural community where grit and hard work are shown every day on the farm, in their homes, and at school.
I teach seventh, eighth, and ninth grade mathematics and sponsor numerous extracurricular activities (Junior High Scholar Bowl, High School National Honor Society, and Math League). I am also an activity room during our daily study hall time for students who have earned the privilege to come to my classroom. I have high expectations for my students and use Whole Brain research techniques to make learning memorable and fun.
My Project
My students range in age from twelve years old to eighteen years old. They also range in size from petite to football players. Having such a diverse group of students makes finding comfortable chairs difficult in our small school.
Comfortable chairs will allow all of my students to stay focused during instruction and will last for many years to come.
Most of my current chairs are more than twenty years old. Many of them have been bent and rebent to keep them together. My students work very hard for me and I want to be able to give them a seat that is stable and comfortable.
This is Part 2 of my total project to get enough chairs for all of my students.
