My students are simply amazing. They are curious, creative, and eager for knowledge. They inspire me to be better every day. They are on a guided path to being lifelong learners. I'm honored to be a part of their journey.
Looking out into our classroom, I see students from other parts of the world and some born right in the neighborhood, making for a rich cultural experience.

My Project
This year I want to make sure every student feels fully supported and ready to write before their pen ever hits the page. Students will have a writing center they can easily navigate and prepare themselves with independence. This project includes a paper sorter where students can chose the proper writing paper for their abilities and interests. The writing center also includes individual tape for each student to edit and revise by taping on new sentences instead of crossing it out or starting over. We call them spider legs. This center also include high quality color pens. We currently have some pens, but they are running low because the students love them so much! They are such an engaging piece of our writer's workshop. Students can show where they are in the cycle of revision based on whether they are writing with black or colored ink. It holds students accountable and motivated in a fun way.
As students have choice and access they can feel in charge of their own writing.
They can take pride and ownership in their stories and ideas. They can work hard to build stamina and improve their writing craft. Having all the supplies they need ready and available gives them more motivate to write and more reasons to keep writing, writing, WRITING! Thank you in advance for helping our young writers!
