"Our school is committed to high academic standards and believes that learning is fun! As we prepare the “children of today for the world of tomorrow,” we strive to meet all the needs of our diverse student population through a gifted track, exceptional programming, remedial grouping, varied instructional methodology, data driven decision making, and the infusion of 21st-century skills, arts and technology. Teachers work together in an open spaced environment to create an exciting, integrated curriculum that supports both academic and social needs. Students are taught to be creative problem solvers, collaborative thinkers and caring individuals who will contribute to the community and world at large."-school vision statement
My first graders arrive each day excited for a new learning adventure!
Thier natural curiosity, positive attitudes, and endless energy are a teacher's dream class. Our school serves an ethnically diverse student population with 60% of students coming from low-income homes.
My Project
Dry erase boards for planning, colorful paints for illustrating, and bright folders to stay organized will help my young authors create imaginative stories! First graders are ready to show off their knowledge of letters and sounds by writing original stories to share with others. Step-by-step, we work together to plan, write, edit and publish these beautiful writing pieces. Your donation will provide the tools needed for this excellent learning experience.
Room 104 is a learning space for future Caldecott Medal and Pulitzer Prize winners!
With your help, my students will have the opportunity to grow as writers and artists. The books created this school year will be the first step in their future journalism careers!
