A typical day in my classroom involves lots of learning and celebrating every success. Along with that comes intensive drill and practice in reading, writing, and math skills. There are a wide range of abilities within my Intervention Classroom. Each day we work very hard to bridge the learning gap and grow as independent students. Reading is especially difficult for many of my students. So, that missing piece effects everything else they try to do. It is a vicious circle causing many students to feel more and more defeated.
My students who struggle with various learning disabilities are experiencing success.
Seeing them really get engrossed and invested in their learning is extremely satisfying.
My Project
The Fairy Tale and Fable books I am requesting within this project will enhance the learning of my students. My students will gain hands on exposure to multiple texts featuring classic stories as told through the years. These books fit into the Ohio Learning Standards allowing students to maintain progress within their grade level curriculum. We will explore the key components within fairy tales and fables. In addition, these materials will be used as inspiration and guidance in the project of my students writing their own fairy tales and/or fables. I am requesting contact paper and storage boxes to keep these materials in good condition. These materials will be used for multiple school years allowing a plethora of students to utilize them.
