This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 24 ambitious kindergartners. They are all unique in their own way, but yet alike because of their desire to learn each day. They are creative and imaginative. They are inquisitive, asking questions, wanting to know more about so many things.
My students enjoy learning and being read to.
They are like little sponges, soaking up what I teach them and desiring more. When they enter the classroom each morning, you can see the enthusiasm in their eyes. They enter the classroom with a big smile and by saying the password, "Good Morning Mrs. W." They let me know every school day how excited they are to be at school to learn. If there is no school because of a holiday or when they are off on the weekend, they come back and say how much they missed school and their teacher.
I am so grateful to have the opportunity to have an impact on my students to help them be life long learners.
My Project
My kindergartners will greatly benefit from learning with the Road to Reading, Beginning Sounds, and Letter Recognition Activity Learning Centers. These centers will make independent learning fun and exciting.
The instant learning centers are great for non readers!
The centers help to build beginning language skills, word building, and beginning/ending letter sound recognition. The teacher is able to quickly set up the centers for the students because the materials come ready to use. The teacher is able to quickly set out the materials and introduce the activity. The students will be able to work at their own pace. Each center will be able to accommodate up to 4 children. The centers have an instruction chart on each side so all the children who are at the learning center can see. The instructions are in simple picture form so students can follow on their own.
The centers I am requesting will get my students on the road to reading.
