This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

J.O.W. Elementary School is a District of Columbia Public School in the Northeast quadrant of Washington, DC. Our mission is: At our school we are SOARing to Success Every Day in Every Way. We are fortunate to have a talented and diverse staff who strive to honor our school-wide promises to our students by creating an environment in which joy, pride, positive interactions, and growth mindsets lead students to comfort in taking risks, self-advocating, and facing adversity.

We will close our first year back together with a year-end Spring Production.

This production will bring excitement and pride to not only our students but the wider community and be nothing short of amazing!

The mission of the Cardinal Drama Players is to educate students about the theatrical arts by engaging them in opportunities to view and attend varied performances and ultimately present a signature spring musical to the surrounding community. We strive to foster an appreciation of all forms of performing arts while empowering students through identifying and honing talents.

My Project

In the Spring of 2022 our school will present our spring musical, Aladdin Jr.!

We are building a dynamic performing arts program at our school.

Our current performing space is limited and we are searching for creative ways to make it more accommodating for a large production.

This project is part of creating and enhancing our space for students to perform and view our production. These pipe and drape sets will be used to create a larger performing space and backstage area for our student actors. They will also be used for other school performances and events.
