My school has a diverse community and many come from different economic backgrounds. My second grade classroom is an inclusive classroom which means my students have a variety of learning abilities. My students love being hands-on with innovative and collaborative activities. This helps to make wonderful learning opportunities that prepare students for success. I work hard to make my classroom a safe and comfortable learning environment. I want my students to be as successful as possible so my goal is to do whatever it takes for this to happen.
My Project
This funding will allow me to pursue the highest level of professional development as a teacher. I am currently in my second year of completing National Boards. The funding will go towards the registration fee and component 4: Effective and Reflective Practitioner. This process will enable me to become a better teacher for myself as well as for my students. This certification process will have a huge impact on my students through my continued growth as an educator.
Funding of this project will allow me to improve the quality of my teaching practices.
The Certification process will allow me to demonstrate my knowledge of students, collaborate with colleagues, families and improve the learning environments for all students. As the National Board believes: higher standards for teachers means better learning for students. It is the most respected professional certification available in K-12 education.
