My Students

I have 22 amazing 2nd graders. They come from various homelives (2 parent homes, 1 parent homes, foster homes) and income levels. This all effects their learning. I want them to feel successful.

All my students are eager to learn and can not wait for our next activity.

They enjoy hands on activities and activities that keep them in motion. They definitely keep me on my toes!

Our classroom is located in the same building with our Pre-kindergarteners, Kindergartners and 1st graders.

My Project

The flexible seating will give my active friends a way to move while reading, writing, or even listening to stories. The new seats will give them just enough movement but not so much that it is a distraction to them or others. These seats are also adjustable as not all 2nd graders are the same size.

Listening is an important part of learning.

Although 2nd graders can read on their own, it is nice to sit back and enjoy listening to a story. Hearing others read can help us become better readers by hearing the pauses in reading, the inflection in ones voice and how smooth the reader reads.
