Help me give my students tools such as defense dummies and blocking pads to help them learn to play defensively and new basketballs to use on game day.
We are located in North Mississippi in a very rural area. Our school is small in size, but big in the "can do" spirit. Our students are dedicated and hard-working kids. They love to learn and also love one another.
MHS students love sports, especially basketball.
However, being a junior high athlete, they do not usually get the opportunities that the high school athletes do. Our coach believes that when we invest in our younger student-athletes, it will make the next level program even better.
My Project
The donations received will help the team build much needed defense skills to prepare them for playing in games. They will use the resources purchased for hands-on practicing and one-on-one training. The pads will come in handy when practicing defense drills, as will the defensive dummies which will be used to practice shooting drills also.
Teaching the girls the right way to do things and investing in our basketball program, we hope will help to build life skills as well as create a basketball family that works hard with and for each other.
The materials purchased will be used to teach our team members the correct way to play defense and offense. The basketballs themselves will be used for game day balls as well as shooting drills.
