Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are spirited third graders and are Best Buddies with our third through fifth grade MCS class. They will be supporting one another during the Special Olympics - Spring 2019. Both classes work very hard in order to compete in events including the 50 yard dash, standing long jump, and javelin throw.
Our school is a Title I school and all of our students receive a free breakfast and lunch every day.
Our school is in a high poverty neighborhood but I know the parents want their children to be successful. The materials I am seeking will help them realize success.
My Project
The shorts we are requesting will show our team spirit and unity! The students in our classes try their best to work together. Wearing matching outfits during competition helps students see one another as a team working toward the goal of being the best athletes they can be.
The students are excited to know that they will be competing in the Special Olympics later this school year and are pleased to know they will have uniforms to show team unity.
They look forward to cheering one another on all the way to the finish line.
