Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are first graders that attend a Title I school in a low economic rural community, and all have various learning needs and/or disabilities.
Many of them face a home life some of us could not imagine without the resources and support they need to be successful in school.
Although they face these challenges, it does not stop their eagerness and excitement to learn. My students always love the opportunity to learn in various ways. That's what makes them so great!
My Project
The world has changed and our students are continuously changing with it.
Today's world is a constant stream of information via technology.
As a class we starting our journey into podcasting. What could be cooler than creating our own podcast where we implement digital storytelling! TWe recently got our first part of this project funded with a Dell laptop. Now we need these building sets to create or characters and or settings that we will be using in our storytelling. There are few things more powerful than being in control of student content. I want to facilitate a whole school storytelling podcast. Starting with KINDNESS. My vision is start small within our classroom. Once we are comfortable with the technology, I want my students to take the show on the road and lead our grade level then our school on our journey. Now that's powerful.
