This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a school that is located in South Central. Almost 100% of students qualify for free lunch.

Despite their backgrounds and the hardships my students have encountered at a young age, they are eager to learn.

They come to school ready and willing to learn. They know that being successful in school will lead to being successful in their future! I am hoping to nurture that love of learning by providing them with meaningful, creative and authentic learning.

My Project

My students will benefit from these Math Strategies Practice Journals, in that their math skills will be reinforced. Often times students lose a lot of the skills they learned in previous grade levels. This in turn hinders them from learning new skills. Constantly reinforcing Math skills is extremely critical.

With these Math Strategies Practice Journals my students will have daily practice that is aligned to the Common Core.

This practice will keep them on track. I try to make Math really fun and engaging for my students. But when students lack strategies and skills they often feel frustrated. These journals will really help lower frustration levels and increase my students confidence in Math. Your donations will be greatly appreciated by my students and I!
