My students need safety goggles and clipboards. I want my students to learn about science by actually doing it! These will allow them to protect their eyes during labs and to record their data.

My Students
I teach in an urban school designed for high ability students in grades 2-8. About half of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. I teach science to fourth and fifth graders who love science. They enjoy moving around and doing hands-on investigations.
I strive to nurture their passion and interest in science by providing an environment in which they not only feel like scientists but get to be scientists.
I want to give them chances to perform experiments and learn by doing.
My Project
Safety goggles are imperative for safety while students perform lab activities. I want my students to keep their eyes safe and to practice following lab safety protocols.
Kids learn best by doing; in science, that means doing labs!
Many labs would be unsafe to perform without goggles, and I don't want to limit my scientists' opportunities to learn. The clipboards will be used to record data during labs. They will allow students to move around without needing a desk to write on. They will also be used for non-lab work, as many of my students work better when they are able to sit on the floor.
