My Students

I am fortunate to have 6 English Language Learners in my classroom. English is their second language, and they are not able to get a lot of support at home with their homework. Many of their parents do not speak English at home. It is very important that they have access to technology in the classroom.

I have a class of 18 students, and I only have 4 student computers.

My ELL students are so excited when they are able to get on a computer. There are many programs that are available for ELL students.

My Project

My students love to access programs for English Language Learners on the computers. However, I have 18 students, and only 4 student computers in my classroom. If each of my ELL students had a tablet they could use every day, this would help them academically and also help them with their self-esteem. With the five tablets I am requesting, my students would know they will have a tablet to use at school.

Many of my students do not have technology at home.

Their families are not able to help them with their homework or read with them. Many of their parents do not speak English.They will know they are learning through a tablet they can use every day at school. There are many different educational programs my students will be able to access on these tablets for learning both math and reading.
