Hello! I recently changed districts after teaching first grade for 22 years in another town. My current school is considered a Title I school. My new students are loving, creative, and ready to embrace learning. They come to school each day ready to learn and grow both academically and socially. First graders love hands-on, engaging activities. I try my best to create exciting and engaging learning opportunities to prepare them for the future. My Project
The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom. Right now we are using a piece of white cardstock inside a sheet protector. We use the whiteboards to practice letter sounds, spelling, sight words, and math concepts. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what and how my students are doing. It provides an easy place for them to show and share their work. Children feel safe answering on a white board because they can quickly and easily change their answer without much effort.

The math manipulatives, counters, and building blocks for geometry will be used to develop a better understanding of math concepts covered in first grade. We would really appreciate any help you can give us! The whiteboards and manipulatives will help make learning fun and more accessible.
