My Second grade class is located in Oregon. My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! This group also loves art. They are always excited when there is a chance to express themselves through drawing, painting and book making.
This is a wonderful group of second graders who have been working hard all year.
They have grown in so many ways.
To finish off the school year and celebrate their learning and success, I would like to provide them with an extra special field trip that combines all the things that make my class so special.
My Project
Taking students on a field trip is one of the best experiences of the school year. We are so lucky that we live near such a wonderful location as OMSI(Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). At this location the students spend their day doing hands on activities to enhance their learning. It is a highlight of the year.
This year there is an opportunity to combine Science and Art, my students’ two favorite subjects.
Each quarter the museum brings in a special exhibit that adds an extra cost to the visit. My students need help to be able to attend this extra exhibit. With your generous support students and their chaperones will be able to visit this unique exhibit and enhance their experience for the day. Students will gain an increased positive attitude that they can learn about STEAM and computer science(art), and be inspired to share the creativity of careers in those fields.
