This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our Pre-Kinder students are blessed to have received a listening center recently. However, we lack CDs and books for us to be able to use the listening center. Our school does not have funding to supply us with the needed items, and our students deserve the same advantages as other school districts.
My students have worked hard to master the required state standards and many are ready to begin their adventures in reading.
My kids are eager to read and learn!
My Project
We have been gifted a new listening center, which is wonderful! Now we need assistance in finding a home for it and creating a listening library for our students. As a Pre-K campus in a Title I district, funding is limited and not available to aid us in purchasing needed items.
The goal is to provide materials to develop students' early reading skills and cultivate a love of reading!
Our new listening center will allow students to 'read-along' with the CD and build confidence when students begin reading independently. Reading a story independently is a big confidence booster for these young students. I still remember the first book I read by myself. Do you?
