Help me give my students the registration fee for the National Junior Beta Club convention, the opportunity to participate in a 5K, and a t-shirt from the convention!
My students come from a rural, farming community in South Carolina between Charleston and Columbia. Our school serves approximately 350 students in grades 6-12.
These 12 students are Junior Beta Club members who are striving to attend the National Junior Beta Club convention in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, from June 14-June 18.
They always work hard and give their best at school and in after school projects and activities. These young middle school students are very talented academically and artistically. Our goal is to prepare our students for success in high school and college, and our alumni have gone on to schools such as University of South Carolina, Clemson University, West Point, and the Naval Academy. Our school consists of amazing teachers who work hard, often spending money from their own pockets to give back to our kids.
My Project
Out students will be given the opportunity to attend and compete in competitions at the National Junior Beta Club convention. A photograph taken by a sixth grade student and a piece of jewelry created by a 7th grade student will be placed into competition as well as will a banner created by two 5th grade students. Two 7th graders will take academic tests also!
Being able to fly halfway across the country to attend and compete at a convention will always be remembered by these students.
Their desire to learn and be of service to their community and school will be escalated by this experience.
