Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As teachers of students with disabilities in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with meaningful learning experiences.
One thing they all share is a love for learning.
My students deserve the very best materials and resources that are out there, and often due to school and home budget issues, they do not receive them.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The pencils, pencil sharpener, stapler, whiteboard and organizer will be used to help my students stay on track. I will be able to use the white board in my small groups so that my students can follow along. It will not only help with literacy but also with math as the graphing side will allow students to make arrays when multiplying.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in literacy and math.
