"A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward its achievement." My dream is for my little students to have successful academic careers. One action I am going to take to make this happen is going to be securing a document camera for daily use. However I need your help to make this happen.
I work at a wonderful charter school in Arizona.
It is warm, friendly and welcoming to all children. The students who attend my school come from a background that makes everyday a challenge. They are not having their basic needs met at home and the school does what it can to make each child's day special. School is a place where every child can feel safe and accepted no matter what happens after they leave. Unfortunately our school has very little money for basic supplies. The teachers do what they can with what little we have but a lot of time projects and special events have to be canceled due to lack of supplies. My students are wonderful happy children who just need an adult to be their role model and show them that the world is a good place. Education is the key to future success and they are willing to do everything they can to get out of their current situations.
My Project
I am requesting a document camera. A document camera can bridge the achievement gap in my classroom. A document camera allows the students to have full color, full motion visuals to use as a resource. Students can see how to do assigned work resulting in less time spent on passing items around the classroom. It will help with the completion of writing instruction, math instruction and science instruction. It provides the whole class immediate feedback to questions and answers. Picture books can be presented on the entire wall and students can highlight words they know. It will aid "at risk" students by proving a individualized screen experience with the new material. A new document camera will be an invaluable resource that will change the lives of my students and your future leaders.
