My classroom is filled with students who are eager to learn and explore new things. My classroom is filled with 18 eager to learn 3rd graders, who come from many different backgrounds and experiences. The majority of our day is spent developing our reading and math skills. I am looking for more ways to incorporate science into our learning environment, and this project will help get us there!
We are in a low income area where all of my our students qualify for free and reduced price lunches.
Some students have not been given the opportunity to explore the world around them. I want my classroom to be a place where all students have the same opportunity to learn and explore using the same tools as their classmates.
My Project
My students need STEM bins to help enhance their collaborative learning and critical thinking skills outside of our regular daily learning. These materials will allow students hand-on work, more than what pencil and paper provide.
These STEM bins come with plastic school boxes filled with manipulatives for students to use to become engineers.
Pattern blocks, snap cubes, base ten blocks, toothpicks and popsicle sticks are just a few of the items included for students to use to build and be creative. Task cards are also included to show real world examples and spark the creative genius behind each and every student in my classroom.
