Help me give my students an opportunity to express themselves through hands-on activities using the art materials chosen. The Bee-bot allows for many STEM learning experiences and locks provide a fun/engaging way to learn letter sounds!
This will be my second year teaching pre-k. Students come from diverse backgrounds and 90% of the students come from low-income households. Although the school year hasn't begun, half of the students that will be in my classroom where enrolled the previous school year; therefore, I was fortunate enough to meet some of them.
The students demonstrated an interest for hands-on learning experiences, which is something I want to include more this upcoming school year.
They also showed an interest for art and being able to express themselves and bring their imaginations to life. I want children to take my role as a teacher and learn by doing, as I guide them through this journey.
From my teaching experience thus far, nothing teaches us more about our students then art. In our Pre-K classroom we allow children to freely use the art materials in our art center. The paint, paper, and people crafts will be used throughout the school year as children please.
The most expensive material chosen, the bee-bot, has been used in classrooms world-wide for fun and engaging letter, number, and even building activities.
Children can create fun mazes for the bee bot to travel through and learn their numbers and letters by letting the bee bot travel to a specific letter/number on a mat. The alphabet locks will help us achieve one of our main goals, learning letters and letters sounds. Please help us make this school year an unforgettable experience!
