My students need vans to get around Los Angeles to see colleges.

My advisory class is my first family at work. I have known most of them for over 2 years . As freshmen, they were wide-eyed young ladies who had a lot of energy, but they needed a lot of guidance on how to be a successful student. Today, they are juniors who are already planning for college. My girls have grown and matured before my eyes. They have begun taking responsibility for their actions and take on leadership roles. They see themselves as college-going.
My goal is to show my students that they can literally go anywhere they want in this world.
Last year, I took 10 advisees to Chicago for a 3-day college trip. This year, we will be visiting colleges in Los Angeles and nearby cities, including UCLA, Pomona College, and University of Southern California. For most of the girls, this will be their first time in the West Coast. For many, this will be their first time on a plane. A few have never seen an ocean. Please help us acquire vans to get around Los Angeles so we can see as many colleges as possible!
My students have been learning about colleges in California through research they have done using Match Magician and Youniversity. org. By going on this trip, students will get more in depth information about admission requirements, majors, internship, and campus life. They will also get to meet current students.
Visiting the colleges they researched would put my students in a distinct advantage when compared to other applicants across the country.
While some juniors go on out-of-state college trips with their families, many of our scholars are not afforded the opportunity. My students deserve every single advantage that other high school students in more affluent communities have.
