My students need some choices in where they can learn their best. I want my students to have variety and choice in their classroom seating, including a rug, supports and bean bags.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Well...it's summer break right now so I can only explain the type of students who typically walk in to my 2nd grade class each year. They are wide eyed, happy and very eager learners who have no idea of the exciting year I have planned for them. 2nd graders have an excitement and wonder about them and it is such a magical time of learning. Our school demographics have changed dramatically over the past few years...we have mostly working class families with a very large portion of students coming from families whose both parents work.
My Project
I love laying down on a comfy chair to read...whether it be my latest novel or an educational book for learning. We all want to be comfortable and in an environment that offers us our own personal choices of comfort. My hope is to enable my little ones the opportunity to lay on a comfy rug, to lean up against some wiggly back supports, to cuddle up in a bean bag reader or maybe even sit at their traditional desk and chair. My hope is that THEY will have a say in where they choose to learn and explore this amazing 2nd grade world of fun!
