Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school has a very diverse population. It also falls into the Title I category, which means our students come from low-income families. Therefore, the majority of our students are unable to bring in all necessary materials for school.

My students have an inspiring love for knowledge and are always so excited and enthusiastic about the new things we are learning.

It is so encouraging as a teacher to see them get so excited when they grasp a new or difficult concept, with which they have been struggling. The impact of all the donations to our class brings so much joy to my students and encouraging them to never give up.

My Project

My students do not have many opportunities to engage with technology in the classroom. There are so many incredible resources for reading, writing, and math that are accessible on tablets.

Not only will these tablets improve my students' academic abilities, it will introduce them to a new world of technology which has not been previously available to most of them.

Having these tablets, would allow me to challenge my students more effectively. I would also be able to assist students who have particular disabilities, which may not normally be met without these tablets.

The learning possibilities are endless and I cannot wait to see the impact this will have on my classes for years to come!
