My Students

I teach an Integrated Co-Teaching 2nd grade class. My class is full of diverse learners with different interests and abilities. My Co-teacher and I strive every day to make sure we give our students an incredible education with the materials we have.

My school's area was completely destroyed by Hurricane Sandy a few years ago.

We are still rebuilding. Some families lost everything in the storm.

My students don't have much at home so new books would mean the world to them. I have seen my students make incredible gains already this school year. I can't wait to see their faces when we unwrap new materials for the classroom.

My Project

At our school, we take what we can get. A lot of our technology is outdated if it works at all. I have a second hand smart board which works but the laptop we have is so slow we often can’t use the smart board to it’s fullest potential. With this new laptop, we will be able to integrate fun interactive lessons for all subjects. The kids get so excited when the laptop works. I can’t wait to see them when it works all the time. We can see videos from around the world, play math games to increase our fluency and so much more.
