My students need Snapwords to help them learn 90% of words they will see while reading.
This project expired on October 11, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
First grade students are fun, energetic, and determined to learn! Lincoln first graders are in a low socio-economic area title 1 school . 91.6% of my students qualify for free and reduced price lunch. My boys and girls are mostly English Learners from a beginning levels ( little to no English) to bridging ( almost mastering their second language). Since I have an inclusive classroom, a few students have Individual Education Plans due to different needs.
No matter the level , my group of first graders are determined to learn their sounds and start to read and build skills to last a lifetime!
My little lions show PRIDE ( Positive attitude, Responsibility, Integrity, Determination, and Enthusiasm) in every task in the classroom. They love to learn with STEAM and work hard to be independent mathematicians, scientist, engineers, writers and readers. I am proud to be able to teach such a wonderful and diverse group of children.
Snap cards are an effective fun way to teach and learn high frequency words that are needed for beginning readers.
This program provides fun interactive lessons and visual components effective for my students with special needs, students who are learning English and students at every level of reading.
Snapwords were first introduce to me by my RSP teacher. She used these cards for 3 of my students with learning disabilities to learn their kindergarten high frequency words. To both of our amazement our students learned them fast!
I would like to give all my student this fun kinetic way to learn their high frequency words , and most importantly , to learn to read! This program has 643 words, 90 % of the words children will encounter in everyday reading. Best part is that it can be used for multiple learning levels, which means EVERY STUDENT BENEFITS. This packages has kindergarten to third grade words, therefore I can use it as an intervention tool to use with students performing below grade level or a challenge for students working above grade level.
