Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"I found an "a","a" alligator", a child exclaims while engaging with materials in the sensory table. Each day I get to see twenty tiny minds engage in learning in an excited and authentic way. I love teaching four year olds because of their enthusiasm for learning.
I am especially inspired by my current group of students because they are not only learning the alphabet for the first time, but English.
We are a Title I school which caters to a large population of ESL learners. I adore working with this population of students. They never cease to exceed my expectations and tackle learning a new language with determination.
My Project
Printer ink is an essential classroom tool. A year ago I purchased a color printer so that I was able to make colorful teaching materials to use for lessons and centers in my classroom. Over time ink has gotten to be a financial burden and I am forced to create most things in black and white.
Young children are attracted to bright colorful materials.
If I has ink for my color printer I could make more of these materials. Increased student engagement will result in higher student achievement. Some of the items that I look forward to creating with the ink are classroom books featuring their pictures, and alphabet anchor charts with Spanish words for my many ESL learners.
