This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are thinkers, my students are learners, and my students have a great love for school, but they do have challenges because they live in an inner city. Most of my students' socioeconomic status is low poverty. A few of my students do not even have a permanent address, they move from house to house. One unique, positive trait about my kids is that they do not let these life issues stop them. In my classroom you will find exceptional students, English language learners from around the globe, and traditional students.

I teach at a creative arts school and I have never met such an amazing group of talented and artistic children.

They have a love of learning and they work hard. Their present situation should not determine their future. Where they are from should not determine where they will go. I am determined to make sure my students have the best resources available to achieve all of the goals they set for themselves.

My Project

If you ask most kids what is their favorite part of school I am sure most will say recess. We are entering the season when it is either too cold or too wet to go outside. We are spending a lot of time indoors so my students are not getting the extra stimulation they normally receive when they go outside for recess.

My students look forward to going outside for recess because there is so much to do outside; I want to bring that same excitement inside.

My students are running out of things to do and they are becoming bored. These activities like the puzzles, the stimulation manipulatives, and the board games will keep my students going through out the day. The essential oils go in our class diffuser and provides us with aromatherapy this helps us stay calm and collected when we are stuck inside for 7 hours. The presentation remote is for the students because they like to "teach" their fellow classmates during recess and I allow them to use our projector during this time.
