My students are fabulous children; they are ready to learn! We are a small town, Title I school where all of our students get free meals and some of my students do not have a good home life. Coming to school and getting a warm breakfast and lunch is something they look forward to.
Seeing their eyes light up, a smile on their face, and them excited to get started for the day, is my motivation to make math class interesting day-in and day-out.
I enjoy teaching these students.
I find it challenging to motivate the students that are not interested in school. The challenge is to figure out why they are not interested. Many of them bring a lot of "baggage" with them to school. There are many sad stories. That is why it is important to make their time at school count, to educate them and teach them how to learn, so they have the ability to change their life as they get older. Thanks for your interest.
My Project
This project is going to be used to purchase sports equipment and snacks that students can use when they get home from school in the afternoon. Many of my students do not have the sports balls or equipment at home that would encourage them to get outside and get active when they get home from school. With these supplies, students will be able to check out the equipment they need to play sports when then get home from school. By doing this, a lot less video games will get played at home.
