I have 18 students who come to my classroom eager to learn everyday.
Although I teach in a Magnet School many of the school supply funds have been cut out of the budget do to district and state budget cuts.
As a magnet school, we embrace our MicroSociety theme and pride ourselves in its integration of mathematics, writing, science and social studies into the curriculum, weaving it throughout our academic day. Our students are all employed in ventures that encourage them to be productive and responsible citizens within our learning community. At our school we provide students with a rigorous academic learning environment built upon high expectations and inquiry based learning within our meaningful standards based curriculum. The MicroSociety philosophy creates powerful incentives for all children to learn.
My Project
My students are in need of different odds and ends to keep our classroom running smoothly. It's almost February and our pencil supply is running very low and some of us have dropped our reading bag in the mud a few times on our way home from school. Having more dry erasers will eliminate the arguing when it's time to erase our response boards.
This project is to help us replenish some of our materials as well as add a few things to help our day run more smoothly and to get more organized.
With space so limited in our small classroom having new magnets bins to hang on our board will alway the students to have better access to center materials.
